The Health Service Executive (HSE) Mid West is inviting applications for the position of Senior House Officer (SHO) in Ophthalmology at University Hospital Limerick. This is a fixed-term wholetime contract open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality ophthalmic care under the supervision of consultants.
- Participate in outpatient clinics, theatre sessions, and on-call rotations.
- Conduct initial patient assessments, diagnosis, and management of eye conditions.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure patient safety and continuity of care.
- Maintain accurate medical records and adhere to HSE clinical governance standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- MB BCh BAO or equivalent medical degree.
- Full registration (or eligibility for registration) with the Irish Medical Council (IMC).
- Previous hospital experience in ophthalmology or related medical disciplines desirable.
- Excellent teamwork, communication, and clinical decision-making skills.
- Commitment to continuous professional development.
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
- Salary (1 August 2025 HSE Scale): €54,203 – €74,133 per annum (7-point scale).
- Employment Type: Fixed Term, Wholetime.
- Contract: Medical & Dental, Grade Code 1007.
