Bantry General Hospital is seeking applications for the permanent wholetime post of Staff Nurse (General). This role offers an excellent opportunity to deliver high-quality patient care as part of a multidisciplinary team within HSE South West. The position is open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver safe, compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to patients in accordance with HSE standards and protocols.
• Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date nursing documentation and care plans.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement, infection prevention, and patient safety.
• Participate in ongoing education, training, and professional development activities.
• Supervise and mentor student nurses and healthcare assistants as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registered General Nurse (RGN) with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a busy hospital environment.
• Commitment to continuous professional development and evidence-based practice.
• Experience in an acute hospital setting is desirable.
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
• HSE Consolidated Pay Scale effective from 1 August 2025: €37,288 – €55,477 per annum (13 points including LSI).
• Permanent, full-time contract.
• Access to public sector pension and annual leave entitlements in line with HSE policy.
• Allowances and increments in accordance with Department of Health Circular 6/2025.
