The Health Service Executive (HSE) South West is inviting applications for a permanent Consultant Radiologist position based at Cork University Hospital. This full-time role offers an opportunity to join a leading diagnostic and imaging service serving the Cork and Kerry regions. Applicants from both HSE and non-HSE backgrounds are welcome.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide a full range of radiology services, including interpretation, reporting, and procedural work.
• Contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings and clinical discussions.
• Support the development and implementation of imaging protocols and quality standards.
• Participate in teaching, supervision, and continuous professional development activities.
• Engage in on-call and out-of-hours diagnostic service provision as rostered.
• Collaborate with colleagues across HSE South West to ensure consistent radiological standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Specialist registration (or eligibility) with the Irish Medical Council (IMC) in Radiology.
• Proven experience in diagnostic imaging and interventional radiology.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and clinical leadership skills.
• Commitment to continuous professional development and clinical governance.
• Familiarity with HSE systems and policies is advantageous.
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
• Grade: Consultant Radiologist (118X)
• Salary scale: As per Department of Health Consolidated Salary Scales effective 1 August 2025 — from €222,714 to €269,686 per annum, subject to experience and increments (see DoH Circular 6/2025).
• Contract: Permanent, wholetime (37 hours per week)
• Pension: Superannuation in accordance with public service schemes
