The Health Service Executive (HSE) is seeking a General Manager for Acute Hospital Services within the Integrated Health Areas (IHA) Dublin North City and West. Based in Swords, this permanent, whole-time position offers an exceptional opportunity for a senior healthcare leader to drive service delivery and performance across acute hospital services in the Dublin North region.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the operational management and performance of acute hospital services within the IHA Dublin North City and West.
• Implement HSE strategic goals, policies, and service improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with hospital groups, community care teams, and regional health management to ensure efficient, patient-centred care.
• Manage budgets, resources, and staffing to ensure optimal service delivery.
• Oversee compliance with statutory and governance frameworks.
• Support the development of integrated healthcare models in the region.
• Report to the IHA Manager and contribute to cross-functional decision-making and policy implementation.
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Relevant third-level qualification in health service management, public administration, or a related field.
• Proven leadership experience at a senior management level in healthcare.
• Strong knowledge of HSE structures, policy frameworks, and operational management.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage large-scale change, budgets, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Commitment to the values of the public health service and integrated care delivery.
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
• Grade: General Manager (Grade Code 0041).
• Salary scale (as per HSE consolidated salary scales, effective 1 August 2025): €96,675–€116,048 per annum, with LSIs thereafter.
• Full-time, permanent contract (wholetime).
• Public sector pension and leave entitlements apply.
