The Health Service Executive (HSE) is seeking a committed and motivated Staff Nurse to join the Theatre Department at Galway University Hospital and Merlin Park University Hospital. This permanent wholetime role offers the opportunity to work in a busy acute environment supporting high-quality perioperative care across a large regional service.
Table of Contents
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver safe, effective, person-centred nursing care in the theatre environment
• Support all aspects of perioperative nursing, including pre-operative, intra-operative and post-operative duties
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high standards of patient care
• Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to HSE clinical policies and procedures
• Participate in ongoing professional development, training, and quality improvement initiatives
• Contribute to maintaining a safe working environment and infection prevention and control standards
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registered General Nurse (RGN) with NMBI registration
• Relevant theatre or acute hospital experience is desirable
• Strong clinical decision-making and organisational skills
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
• Commitment to continuous professional development
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
