University Hospital Limerick is seeking a Staff Grade Pharmacist to join its Pharmacy Department, supporting services across UHL, University Maternity Hospital Limerick (UMHL) and Croom Orthopaedic Hospital. This is a permanent whole-time role within the Health Service Executive (HSE) Mid West region.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centred clinical pharmacy services across UHL, UMHL and Croom
• Provide medication review, optimisation and therapeutic advice to multidisciplinary teams
• Support safe and effective medication management systems
• Contribute to governance, policy development and audit activities
• Participate in dispensary, aseptic services and clinical rotations as required
• Promote adherence to HSE medicines management standards
• Support education and training of pharmacy staff and students
• Engage in service development and quality improvement initiatives

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Professional qualification in Pharmacy accredited by the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland (PSI)
• Registration (or eligibility for registration) with the PSI
• Strong clinical knowledge and commitment to evidence-based practice
• Excellent communication, teamwork and organisational skills
• Ability to work across a fast-paced acute hospital network
• Experience in hospital pharmacy (desirable but not essential)

Salary, Benefits & Working Hours

Contract type: Permanent, whole-time
Grade: Pharmacist (Staff Grade – Code 3247)
• Salary in accordance with the HSE Consolidated Pay Scales (effective 1 August 2025)
