Wexford General Hospital is seeking a highly experienced Clinical Specialist Radiographer (MRI) to join its Radiology Department on a permanent, whole-time basis. This senior specialist role offers the opportunity to lead and develop MRI services while contributing to high-quality patient care within a busy acute hospital environment. The post is open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants.

Key Responsibilities
• Provide expert clinical leadership in MRI imaging services
• Perform and oversee complex MRI examinations to a high clinical standard
• Support protocol development, optimisation, and quality assurance in MRI
• Act as a clinical resource and mentor for radiography staff and students
• Participate in service planning, audit, and continuous quality improvement
• Ensure compliance with radiation safety, MRI safety, and HSE policies
• Collaborate closely with radiologists, clinicians, and multidisciplinary teams
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registration with CORU as a Radiographer
• Significant post-qualification experience in MRI, demonstrating depth and breadth relevant to a Clinical Specialist role
• Evidence of advanced clinical competence and specialist MRI knowledge
• Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
• Experience in education, training, or supervision of staff is desirable
• Commitment to continuous professional development and service improvement
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
• Salary: In line with HSE Consolidated Salary Scales for Radiographer – Clinical Specialist (Grade 3131), effective from 1 August 2025
• Contract: Permanent, Wholetime
