This is a senior leadership opportunity within Older Persons Services, providing strategic and operational nursing management across community and long-term care settings in Dublin South. The role plays a critical part in ensuring high-quality, safe, and person-centred care for older people, including those in dementia-specific and complex care units.

The successful candidate will support governance, workforce management, and service development while ensuring full compliance with regulatory and safeguarding standards.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide professional nursing leadership across Older Persons Services
• Support the Director of Nursing in service planning and operational delivery
• Ensure compliance with HIQA standards, safeguarding policies, and reporting requirements
• Oversee roster management, workforce planning, and staff mediation processes
• Promote high standards of clinical governance and risk management
• Lead and support education, training, and continuous professional development initiatives
• Contribute to quality improvement, audit, and service evaluation programmes
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registered Nurse on the live Register maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
• Relevant post-registration qualification at Level 9 or higher (or working towards)
• Significant senior nursing management experience
• Demonstrated experience in Older Persons Services, dementia-specific, highly complex, or long-term care settings
• Strong working knowledge of safeguarding legislation and HIQA regulatory frameworks
• Proven leadership, communication, and people-management skills
Desirable:
• Gerontological nursing specialisation
• Experience delivering staff education or “train the trainer” programmes
