University Hospital Waterford is seeking a Medical Registrar with a special interest in Integrated Renal Care to join its multidisciplinary renal services. This role offers structured clinical exposure, specialist development, and participation in an integrated care model across hospital and community settings.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver high-quality medical care to renal patients under consultant supervision
• Participate in integrated renal care pathways across inpatient and outpatient services
• Support dialysis, CKD, and acute renal services as required
• Contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings and care planning
• Participate in audit, quality improvement, and clinical governance activities
• Support junior medical staff and participate in teaching where appropriate
• Comply with HSE clinical policies, protocols, and patient safety standards
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registration with the Irish Medical Council (IMC) on the General or Specialist Division
• Eligible for appointment at Registrar grade (Medicine)
• Demonstrated interest or experience in Renal Medicine
• Strong clinical, communication, and teamwork skills
• Eligibility to work in Ireland
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
• Salary aligned to HSE Registrar (Medicine) pay scale (Grade 1530), in accordance with Department of Health Consolidated Salary Scales (effective 1 August 2025)

• Full-time wholetime contract with participation in agreed rosters and on-call arrangements
