University Hospital Waterford is seeking an ENT Senior House Officer to join its Otolaryngology service. This fixed-term whole-time role offers hands-on clinical experience within a busy acute hospital setting. The position supports professional development through supervised training and multidisciplinary collaboration.
Table of Contents
Key Responsibilities
• Provide inpatient and outpatient ENT clinical care under consultant supervision
• Participate in emergency and on-call rotas as required
• Assist with diagnostic procedures and minor ENT interventions
• Maintain accurate and timely patient records
• Contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings and ward rounds
• Support junior colleagues and medical students where appropriate
• Adhere to HSE clinical governance, safety, and infection control policies
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registration (or eligibility for registration) with the Irish Medical Council
• Completion of internship recognised by the Medical Council of Ireland
• Demonstrated interest or experience in ENT or surgical specialties
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure clinical environment
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
• Grade: Senior House Officer – Surgery (Code 1011)
• Salary Scale: €54,203 – €74,133 per annum (August 2025 scale, point dependent)
• Contract Type: Fixed Term, Whole-Time
