Mallow General Hospital is seeking an experienced Senior Pharmacist to provide high-quality clinical pharmacy services within a multidisciplinary hospital setting. This is a permanent, wholetime opportunity within the HSE South West region, supporting safe, effective, and patient-centred medication management.

The role offers the opportunity to contribute to service development, clinical governance, and mentoring of pharmacy staff in a busy acute hospital environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver advanced clinical pharmacy services to inpatients and outpatients
• Provide expert advice on medicines management to medical, nursing, and allied health colleagues
• Support the implementation of national and local medicines policies and guidelines
• Supervise, support, and mentor basic grade pharmacists and pharmacy technicians
• Participate in audit, quality improvement, and risk management initiatives
• Contribute to antimicrobial stewardship and medication safety programmes
• Ensure compliance with HSE, PSI, and hospital governance requirements
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registration as a Pharmacist with the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland (PSI)
• Relevant postgraduate experience in hospital pharmacy practice
• Demonstrated competence in clinical pharmacy service delivery
• Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
• Experience supervising or mentoring staff (desirable)
• Eligibility to work in Ireland
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
• Salary: In line with HSE Consolidated Salary Scales for Senior Pharmacist Grade 3239 (effective 1 August 2025)
• Working Hours: Wholetime (HSE standard working hours apply)
