Our Lady’s Hospital Navan is seeking a motivated Registrar in Rheumatology to join a consultant-led multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality rheumatology services. This post offers excellent clinical exposure, structured supervision, and opportunities for professional development within a busy acute hospital setting. The position is offered on a 12-month fixed-term basis with a possible view to extension, with permanent options also available.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver high-quality inpatient and outpatient rheumatology care under consultant supervision
• Participate in assessment, diagnosis, and management of rheumatological conditions
• Contribute to ward rounds, clinics, and multidisciplinary team meetings
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and patient records
• Participate in on-call and rota commitments as required
• Support teaching and supervision of junior doctors and medical students
• Engage in clinical audit, quality improvement, and service development activities
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Valid registration on the General Division of the Irish Medical Council
• MRCPI or equivalent postgraduate qualification (essential)
• Previous clinical theory and practical experience in a similar registrar-level post
• Rheumatology experience (desirable)
• Compliance with English language requirements for NCHDs (HSE HR Circular 022/2018)
• International Police Clearance for any previous residence outside the Republic of Ireland
• Strong communication, teamwork, and clinical decision-making skills
