An exciting permanent leadership opportunity has arisen for a Director of Nursing Band 5 (Bespoke) within Older Persons Services at West Kerry Community Hospital. This role provides strategic and operational nursing leadership, ensuring high-quality, person-centred care for older adults in a community hospital setting.

Key Responsibilities
• Provide professional leadership and management to nursing and care teams
• Ensure delivery of safe, effective, and high-quality care for older persons
• Lead clinical governance, quality improvement, and patient safety initiatives
• Manage workforce planning, rostering, and staff development
• Oversee compliance with HSE policies, HIQA standards, and regulatory requirements
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and senior management
• Manage budgets and resources effectively within service requirements
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registration as a Nurse on the NMBI register
• Relevant post-registration qualification at Level 8 or higher
• Significant management and leadership experience in Older Persons or Community Services
• Demonstrated knowledge of governance, quality, and risk management
• Excellent communication, leadership, and decision-making skills
• Eligibility to work in Ireland
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
• Salary Scale: Director of Nursing Band 5 (General) – €72,230 to €81,606 per annum (Aug 2025 rates)
