The Health Promotion and Improvement Officer (HP&IO) plays a vital role in delivering population health initiatives across the Dublin and Midlands region. This position supports evidence-based programmes that improve health outcomes, reduce inequalities, and strengthen community wellbeing.
Two whole-time vacancies are available (permanent and specified purpose), with posts located in Dublin South West. A panel may also be formed to fill future vacancies across the region.
Key Responsibilities
• Plan, implement and evaluate health promotion programmes aligned with national policy
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and community partners
• Support health needs assessments and population health planning
• Develop resources and deliver education initiatives across priority health areas
• Monitor outcomes, prepare reports, and contribute to service improvement
• Promote equity, inclusion, and community engagement in all activities
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Relevant third-level qualification in health promotion, public health, or related discipline
• Demonstrated experience in health promotion or community development
• Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Knowledge of Irish health policy and population health frameworks
• Full eligibility to work in Ireland
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
• Salary: In line with Health Promotion and Improvement Officer Grade 6200 HSE payscale
• Contract: Permanent Whole-Time / Specified Purpose
