University Hospital Kerry is seeking a Radiographer Clinical Specialist (PACS) to provide expert clinical leadership in Picture Archiving and Communication Systems within a busy acute hospital environment. This permanent, whole-time post plays a critical role in optimising imaging workflows, supporting clinical users, and advancing digital radiology services across the hospital.
This is a senior specialist role suited to an experienced radiographer with strong PACS expertise and a passion for service development, governance, and staff support.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide clinical and technical leadership for PACS within University Hospital Kerry
• Act as the key liaison between Radiology, ICT, vendors, and clinical users
• Support configuration, optimisation, and ongoing development of PACS workflows
• Lead on PACS-related training, education, and user support
• Contribute to quality assurance, audit, and clinical governance initiatives
• Support system upgrades, testing, and troubleshooting
• Ensure compliance with data protection, clinical safety, and HSE policies
• Participate in service planning and digital transformation initiatives
Required Skills & Qualifications
• CORU registration as a Radiographer is mandatory
• Relevant postgraduate qualification or significant experience in PACS / imaging informatics
• Minimum of three years post-qualification radiography experience
• Demonstrated expertise in PACS systems and digital imaging workflows
• Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
• Experience working in an acute hospital radiology environment
• Evidence of ongoing professional development

• Salary: In line with HSE consolidated pay scales (August 2025 rates apply)
