Portiuncula University Hospital is inviting applications for Staff Nurse Neonatal roles within its Neonatal Department. This campaign will form a panel to fill current and future vacancies, offering an excellent opportunity to work in a specialist neonatal care environment.

These posts are open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants and offer flexible contract options, including permanent and specified purpose roles.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality neonatal nursing care in line with professional standards
• Support the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of neonatal care
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams in a neonatal setting
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and patient records
• Support parents and families during neonatal care and treatment
• Adhere to infection prevention, safety, and clinical governance policies
• Participate in ongoing education, training, and service development

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Registration as a General Nurse with NMBI
• Experience or interest in neonatal nursing (essential for appointment)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Commitment to continuous professional development
• Eligibility to work in Ireland

Salary, Benefits & Working Hours

• Salary: Staff Nurse – General (Grade Code 2135), in line with HSE consolidated pay scales (1 August 2025)
• Contract Types:
– Permanent Part-time / Wholetime
– Specified Purpose Part-time / Wholetime

• Shift patterns will be in accordance with neonatal service requirements
