An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Nurse Manager 3 (Mental Health) – Traveller Health within the Social Inclusion Office at St Canice’s Hospital, Kilkenny. This senior leadership role focuses on improving mental health outcomes for Travellers through service planning, staff management, and strong cross-sector collaboration across the Dublin and South East region.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide senior clinical and professional leadership in Traveller Mental Health services
• Manage and support multidisciplinary staff teams, including supervision and development
• Lead service planning, implementation, and evaluation in line with HSE priorities
• Manage budgets and resources effectively to deliver high-quality services
• Work collaboratively with statutory, voluntary, and community stakeholders
• Advocate for equitable access to mental health services for Travellers and vulnerable groups
• Ensure governance, quality, and risk management standards are met

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (Mental Health Division)
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a senior role working with Travellers or other vulnerable groups
• Significant management experience, including staff, budgets, and service planning
• Demonstrated experience of achieving outcomes through cross-sectoral and multi-agency working
• Strong leadership, communication, and strategic planning skills

Salary, Benefits & Working Hours

Salary: Clinical Nurse Manager 3 (Mental Health) salary scale approximately €70,725 – €79,872 per annum, depending on experience and incremental point
Contract: Permanent, Whole-Time
Benefits: Public service pension, annual leave, paid sick leave, and access to ongoing professional development
Working Hours: Standard HSE whole-time hours

This post is based in the Social Inclusion Office, St Canice’s Hospital, Kilkenny, within HSE Dublin and South East. While one permanent vacancy is currently available in Kilkenny, panels may be formed for Carlow, Kilkenny, South Tipperary, Waterford, and Wexford to fill future permanent or specified purpose vacancies, full-time or part-time.
