Cork University Hospital is seeking an experienced Senior Speech and Language Therapist to join the Inpatient Trauma Rehabilitation Team. This senior clinical role involves delivering specialist assessment and rehabilitation to adults with complex trauma-related communication and swallowing needs. The post offers an opportunity to work within a highly skilled multidisciplinary team in a leading acute teaching hospital.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide specialist speech and language therapy assessment and intervention for inpatients with traumatic injuries
• Manage a complex caseload including dysphagia, cognitive-communication, and speech disorders
• Contribute to multidisciplinary rehabilitation planning and discharge processes
• Provide clinical leadership, supervision, and support to junior staff and students
• Participate in service development, audit, and quality improvement initiatives
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with HSE standards
• Engage in continuing professional development and evidence-based practice
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registration as a Speech and Language Therapist with CORU
• Recognised qualification in Speech and Language Therapy
• Minimum experience requirements as per Senior SLT grade criteria
• Demonstrated experience in adult inpatient or rehabilitation settings
• Expertise in dysphagia assessment and management
• Strong communication, leadership, and teamwork skills
• Eligibility to work in Ireland

• Salary in line with HSE Senior Speech and Language Therapist (Grade 3379) consolidated pay scales
