The Staff Midwife – Midwifery Adaptation Programme is a permanent whole-time opportunity within the HSE Mid West, based in Limerick. This role supports internationally educated midwives in completing an approved adaptation placement to meet Irish registration requirements while working in a supervised clinical environment.

Key Responsibilities
• Participate fully in the approved Midwifery Adaptation Programme
• Deliver safe, evidence-based midwifery care under supervision
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary maternity teams
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with HSE policies
• Adhere to professional, ethical, and regulatory standards of practice
• Engage in ongoing assessment and feedback throughout the programme
• Support women and families across the maternity care pathway
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Eligibility to undertake a Midwifery Adaptation Programme as directed by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
• Midwifery qualification obtained outside Ireland
• Demonstrated commitment to professional development and safe practice
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team
• Satisfactory Garda Vetting and occupational health clearance
