Mayo University Hospital is seeking a Respiratory Registrar to join its medical team from July 2026. This is a fixed-term, wholetime role offering valuable experience in respiratory medicine within a busy acute hospital setting in the West of Ireland.
Table of Contents
Key Responsibilities
• Provide high-quality inpatient and outpatient respiratory care
• Participate in consultant-led ward rounds and clinics
• Support acute medical admissions with respiratory conditions
• Contribute to on-call and rota commitments as required
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and patient records
• Engage in audit, teaching, and continuous professional development
• Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Active registration with the Irish Medical Council (IMC)
• Valid OET or IELTS (where applicable and in date at application)
• 3–5 years’ experience in respiratory medicine or relevant specialty
• MRCP or MRCPI Part 1 (essential)
• Valid BLS and ACLS certification
• Compliance with IMG Training Initiative return requirements (where applicable)

• Salary in line with HSE Registrar (Medicine) Grade 1530 pay scales
• Fixed-term wholetime contract
