University Hospital Limerick is seeking a Senior House Officer (SHO) in Obstetrics and Gynaecology to join its busy maternity and women’s health services. This role offers hands-on clinical experience within a multidisciplinary teaching hospital, supporting high-quality patient care across obstetrics and gynaecology services.

Key Responsibilities
• Provide day-to-day clinical care to obstetric and gynaecology patients under consultant supervision
• Participate in antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care
• Assist in gynaecological procedures and outpatient clinics
• Contribute to on-call and rota-based service delivery
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and patient records
• Work collaboratively with midwifery, nursing, and allied health teams
• Engage in audit, teaching, and continuous professional development
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Medical degree recognised by the Medical Council of Ireland
• Registration (or eligibility for registration) with the Medical Council of Ireland
• Previous clinical experience in Obstetrics & Gynaecology (desirable)
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure clinical environment
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
• Salary Scale: Senior House Officer (Grade 1006)
– €54,203 – €74,133 per annum (dependent on point on scale)
• Fixed Term, Wholetime contract

• Rota-based working hours including on-call duties
