Mayo University Hospital is recruiting a Gastroenterology Registrar to join its specialist medical team from July 2026. This is a fixed-term, whole-time HSE appointment offering excellent clinical exposure in gastroenterology, including essential endoscopy experience, within a busy regional teaching hospital.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality inpatient and outpatient gastroenterology care
• Participate in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy services
• Manage acute gastroenterology admissions under consultant supervision
• Contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings and clinical audits
• Supervise and support junior medical staff
• Participate in on-call and rota commitments
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and patient records

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Active registration with the Irish Medical Council (IMC)
• 3–5 years’ postgraduate experience in the specialty
• Postgraduate medical examinations completed
• Proven experience in endoscopy (essential)
• Valid OET or IELTS certification (where applicable and in date)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• Compliance with IMG Training Initiative return requirements (Pakistan & Sudan applicants only)

Salary, Benefits & Working Hours

Salary Scale (Registrar): Approx. €68,891 – €81,126 per annum (based on point of entry)
