Midland Regional Hospital Portlaoise is recruiting a Chef Grade II to join its Catering Department on a permanent, whole-time basis. This role plays a key part in delivering high-quality, safe, and nutritious meals to patients, staff, and visitors within a busy acute hospital environment.

Key Responsibilities
• Prepare, cook, and present meals in line with hospital menus and dietary requirements
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene and safety at all times
• Support the efficient day-to-day operation of the hospital kitchen
• Ensure compliance with HACCP and Environmental Health regulations
• Work collaboratively with catering colleagues and supervisors
• Assist with stock control, food storage, and waste reduction
• Follow hospital policies, procedures, and infection control guidelines
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Relevant professional cookery experience in a commercial or institutional kitchen
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, regulated environment
• Strong understanding of food hygiene and safety standards
• Willingness to complete a Preliminary Hygiene Course (training provided if not already completed)
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Flexibility to work rostered hours as required
