Bantry General Hospital is seeking a Senior Cardiac Physiologist to join its specialist cardiology services team. This permanent whole-time role plays a key part in delivering high-quality cardiac diagnostic and monitoring services to patients across West Cork.
Table of Contents
As a senior clinician, you will contribute to service development, clinical governance, and the supervision of junior staff while working closely with multidisciplinary colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform and interpret advanced cardiac diagnostic investigations
• Provide specialist support in ECG, Holter, ambulatory BP and echocardiography services
• Contribute to quality assurance, audit, and service improvement initiatives
• Supervise and support junior cardiac physiology staff and students
• Maintain accurate clinical records in line with HSE standards
• Work collaboratively with consultants, nurses, and allied health professionals
• Ensure compliance with professional, ethical, and safety guidelines
Required Skills & Qualifications
• BSc (Hons) or equivalent qualification in Cardiac Physiology or Clinical Measurement Science
• Eligibility for registration with the relevant professional body
• Significant post-qualification experience in cardiac diagnostics
• Demonstrated competence in non-invasive cardiac investigations
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Experience working in an acute hospital setting (desirable)
