Job Overview
This Consultant General Adult Psychiatrist role in Dublin North provides strategic clinical leadership across community mental health services. You will play a central role in delivering patient-focused psychiatric care, supporting multidisciplinary teams, and contributing to service innovation within Mental Health Services Dublin North City.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide consultant-level psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for adult patients
- Lead and support multidisciplinary mental health teams across community services
- Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans aligned with best practice standards
- Contribute to service planning, quality improvement, and clinical governance initiatives
- Supervise and mentor non-consultant hospital doctors and other healthcare professionals
- Engage in audit, research, and continuous professional development activities
- Collaborate with stakeholders to enhance integrated mental health service delivery
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Full registration as a specialist in Psychiatry with the Irish Medical Council
- Inclusion on the Specialist Division (Psychiatry) or eligibility for same
- Extensive experience in General Adult Psychiatry at consultant level or equivalent
- Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills
- Commitment to high standards of patient care and clinical excellence
- Experience in service development and quality improvement initiatives is desirable
- Eligibility to work in Ireland
