Job Overview
Connolly Hospital, operating within HSE Dublin and North East, is recruiting a Consultant Physician in Endocrinology and Diabetes Mellitus for a permanent whole-time appointment. The successful candidate will provide expert clinical leadership in endocrinology and diabetes care while supporting acute medical services, outpatient clinics, inpatient consultations, and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialist Consultant-led endocrinology and diabetes care to patients across inpatient and outpatient settings
- Lead clinical decision-making and management for complex endocrine and metabolic disorders
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and integrated patient care planning
- Support the ongoing development and enhancement of endocrinology and diabetes services
- Contribute to clinical governance, audit activities, and quality improvement initiatives
- Supervise and mentor junior medical staff and non-consultant hospital doctors
- Participate in teaching, training, and academic activities within the hospital environment
- Maintain compliance with HSE clinical standards, policies, and professional requirements
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Registration as a Specialist in the Specialist Division of the Register of Medical Practitioners maintained by the Irish Medical Council
- Extensive clinical experience in Endocrinology and Diabetes Mellitus
- Demonstrated leadership and Consultant-level clinical expertise
- Strong communication, organisational, and multidisciplinary collaboration skills
- Commitment to patient-centred care and continuous service improvement
- Experience in medical education, research, or clinical audit is desirable
- Eligibility to work in Ireland
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
Salary will be aligned with HSE Consultant salary scales and national public sector agreements.
