Job Overview
The successful candidates will provide high-quality, person-centred support to patients and service users across various healthcare settings in Sligo and surrounding areas. Key Responsibilities
- Provide person-centred care and support to patients and residents
- Assist with daily living activities including mobility and personal care
- Support individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities in a compassionate manner
- Maintain accurate care records and communicate effectively with healthcare teams
- Follow care plans, infection prevention procedures, and health and safety guidelines
- Work collaboratively with nurses, carers, and multidisciplinary professionals
- Assist in creating a safe, respectful, and supportive care environment
- Provide support during weekends, holidays, and flexible shift schedules as required
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Relevant QQI Level 5 Healthcare qualification or equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a healthcare or care support environment
- Full driving licence required
- Full right to work in Ireland – sponsorship is not available
- CPR and Patient Moving & Handling certifications preferred
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Previous experience in residential, nursing home, hospital, or disability support settings is advantageous
- Strong compassionate and person-centred approach to care delivery
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
Pay for this Health Care Assistant job in Sligo ranges from €17 to €28 per hour, depending on experience and shift type. Premium rates are available for weekends and bank holidays.
