University Hospital Waterford is seeking applications for the position of Radiographer, Staff Grade (Supplementary) within its Radiography Department. Job Overview

The successful candidate will support the delivery of diagnostic imaging services at University Hospital Waterford while working closely with clinical teams to ensure safe, efficient, and patient-focused radiography services. A supplementary panel may also be formed from this campaign for future permanent and specified purpose vacancies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality radiographic imaging services in accordance with professional standards and HSE policies.
  • Operate and maintain radiographic equipment safely and effectively.
  • Ensure patient care, dignity, and safety throughout all imaging procedures.
  • Collaborate with consultants, radiologists, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Maintain accurate imaging records and documentation.
  • Adhere to radiation protection and infection prevention protocols.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuous professional development.
  • Support efficient departmental workflows and patient scheduling.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Qualification recognised for CORU registration as a Radiographer.
  • Registration with CORU or eligibility for registration.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced acute hospital environment.
  • Knowledge of radiation safety standards and imaging best practices.
  • Commitment to patient-centred healthcare delivery.
  • Previous acute hospital radiography experience is desirable.

Salary, Benefits & Working Hours

Salary will be aligned with HSE Radiographer Staff Grade pay scales and public sector employment terms.
