Job Overview
The Integrated Healthcare Area Lead Acute Services role is a senior management position within University Hospital Kerry and HSE South West. The successful candidate will support integrated service delivery, operational leadership, workforce coordination, and strategic healthcare planning across acute services while ensuring high standards of patient care and organisational performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide operational leadership across acute healthcare services within the Integrated Healthcare Area.
- Support strategic healthcare planning and service development initiatives.
- Lead performance improvement and governance programmes within acute services.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams and senior stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with HSE operational, clinical, and governance standards.
- Monitor service delivery outcomes and contribute to organisational objectives.
- Support workforce planning, resource management, and service optimisation.
- Drive patient-centred care initiatives and continuous quality improvement.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Relevant senior management or healthcare leadership experience within acute healthcare services.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare operations, governance, and service delivery.
- Excellent leadership, organisational, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary healthcare environments.
- Strong communication, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to lead service improvement and operational change initiatives.
- Eligibility restricted to employees of the HSE, Tusla, Section 38 agencies, or statutory health agencies.
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
Salary will be aligned with the HSE Head of Function / Service – Acute Services Grade 0090 pay scale. This is a temporary specified purpose wholetime contract within HSE South West.
