Muirosa Foundation is hiring a Senior Staff Nurse (RNID) to join its Adult Residential Services across Longford and Westmeath. About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen within Muirosa Foundation for a Senior Staff Nurse (RNID) to join the Adult Residential Services in Longford and Westmeath. The successful candidate will make a lasting impression on the lives of the people supported by the service, while continuing to grow their own clinical skills in a dynamic, evolving organisation.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, person-centred nursing care to adults with intellectual disabilities in residential settings.
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to support each individual’s health, wellbeing, and quality of life.
- Promote positive risk management and uphold the will and preference of the people supported.
- Maintain accurate, computerised care documentation and clinical records.
- Support inclusion, advocacy, and meaningful participation in community life.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the service.
Requirements
- Current active registration as a Registered Nurse Intellectual Disability (RNID) with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
- Demonstrated clinical experience relevant to adult intellectual disability services.
- Strong commitment to person-centred care and positive behavioural support.
- Working knowledge of technology, with the ability to complete care documentation electronically.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and report-writing skills.
- Eligibility to work in Ireland.
Salary
€58,691 per annum (HSE Staff Nurse, Senior (Intellectual Disability) scale, single-point), based on the HSE Consolidated Salary Scales effective 1 February 2026.
Location
This role is based across Muirosa Foundation’s Adult Residential Services in counties Longford and Westmeath, within the HSE Dublin and Midlands health region. The service supports adults with intellectual disabilities to live full, included lives in their local communities, with a strong focus on dignity, choice, and meaningful participation. Working in this part of the midlands offers a rewarding mix of community-based nursing and close-knit team culture, in a region known for its quality of life and accessible commute from surrounding counties.
