Multi-Task Attendant vacancies are now available across Residential Older Persons Services in Cork North and East, HSE South West, with opportunities at seven community hospitals and nursing units throughout the region. These are permanent whole-time and permanent part-time posts across a range of facilities serving older persons in the community.

Multi-Task Attendant — Residential Older Persons Services, Cork North and East

Role Overview

HSE South West is recruiting Multi-Task Attendants to support the delivery of high-quality residential care for older persons across Integrated Healthcare Area (IHA) Cork North and East. Successful candidates will work as part of a multidisciplinary team providing personal care, household support, and general assistance to residents in a community hospital or nursing unit setting.

A panel will be formed from this campaign for Multi-Task Attendant, Residential Older Persons Services, IHA Cork North and East, from which current and future permanent and specified purpose vacancies of full-time or part-time duration may be filled.

Key Responsibilities

Duties will be in accordance with the Multi-Task Attendant grade and will include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing direct personal care and support to residents in a residential older persons setting.
  • Assisting with activities of daily living, including nutrition, mobility, and personal hygiene.
  • Supporting the nursing team in delivering a safe, person-centred care environment.
  • Carrying out household and domestic duties within the facility.
  • Maintaining records and documentation as required.
  • Adhering to HSE policies, health and safety standards, and infection prevention and control procedures.

Requirements

Salary

€36,651 – €45,939 per annum (HSE Attendant, Multi-Task scale, 9-point scale). Pay is pro-rata for part-time posts. Based on the HSE Consolidated Salary Scales effective 1 June 2026.

  • Fermoy Community Hospital, Fermoy, Co. Cork
  • Midleton Community Hospital, Midleton, Co. Cork
  • Youghal Community Hospital, Youghal, Co. Cork
  • Cois Abhainn Community Hospital, Co. Cork
  • Kanturk Community Hospital, Kanturk, Co. Cork
  • Millstreet Community Hospital, Millstreet, Co. Cork
  • Heather House Community Nursing Unit, Co. Cork

These facilities provide long-term residential care and rehabilitation services for older persons across the north and east of County Cork, from coastal towns to inland communities.
