Role Overview
Reporting at senior nursing management level, the Clinical Nurse Manager 3 will provide professional and operational leadership across Theatre, Endoscopy, Minor Operations, and Local Decontamination Unit services at Midland Regional Hospital Portlaoise. The successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centred care within a complex, fast-paced perioperative environment, and will play a central role in driving service improvement and compliance with national decontamination standards.
Key Responsibilities
While a full job specification will be made available through the application process, candidates will be expected to demonstrate:
- Depth and breadth of experience in Peri-Operative Nursing, with the ability to lead and develop theatre services at a senior level.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Endoscopy Nursing practice, including national standards and guidance on the decontamination of Reusable Invasive Medical Devices (RIMDs) and Endoscopes.
- Strong leadership and management competencies, with a demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams across a range of surgical and procedural settings.
- A commitment to continuous quality improvement, patient safety, and compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
Requirements
Candidates must meet the eligibility criteria for the Clinical Nurse Manager 3 grade as set out by the HSE. This will include registration as a nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI), relevant post-registration experience at the appropriate level, and meeting any additional qualifications or competencies specified in the campaign documentation available on Rezoomo.
Salary
€72,146 – €81,478 per annum (HSE Clinical Nurse Manager 3 scale, 6-point scale), based on the HSE Consolidated Salary Scales effective 1 June 2026.
