The Technical Services Officer, Chief Assistant (Fire Safety) is a senior technical position within the HSE Capital & Estates function. The post holder will lead on fire safety management, technical compliance, and estates-related fire prevention activities across facilities in the Dublin South and Wicklow Integrated Healthcare Area. Salary
This post is remunerated on the HSE Technical Services Officer, Chief Assistant (Grade 546T) salary scale, effective 1 June 2026:
€80,676 – €94,338 per annum (7-point scale, excluding Long Service Increments)
Long Service Increments (LSIs) apply after satisfying qualifying service conditions: LSI 1 — €97,533; LSI 2 — €100,693. Salary is based on the HSE Consolidated Salary Scales effective 1 June 2026 (Department of Health Circular 2/2026). New appointees will commence at Point 1 of the scale unless prior public sector service applies.
For part-time or specified purpose posts that may be filled from the panel, salary will be pro-rata to hours worked.
Location
The current permanent whole-time vacancy is based at HSE Dublin South and Wicklow IHA, Carrickmines, Dublin South. The role operates within the HSE Capital & Estates portfolio, supporting fire safety and technical services across the integrated healthcare area. Future panel vacancies may arise across HSE Dublin and South East.
Contract Type
The current vacancy is permanent whole-time. The panel formed may also be used to fill permanent part-time, specified purpose whole-time, and specified purpose part-time posts.
