Cheeverstown House Company Limited by Guarantee is recruiting an Intellectual Disability Care Assistant in South Dublin. Role Overview
The Intellectual Disability Care Assistant will contribute to the delivery of high-quality disability services, supporting individuals according to their needs, choices and personal goals. The role requires a respectful and dependable approach, with a focus on dignity, independence, inclusion and quality of life.
As part of the Patient and Client Care category, successful candidates will work within a multidisciplinary and person-centred environment, contributing to safe, consistent and responsive support for people using Cheeverstown services.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide person-centred care and practical support to people with intellectual disabilities.
- Support individuals with daily living activities in line with their assessed needs and personal preferences.
- Promote independence, dignity, choice and participation in community life.
- Contribute to a safe, respectful and supportive care environment.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and other professionals involved in service delivery.
- Support the implementation of individual care and support plans.
- Maintain appropriate standards of communication, confidentiality and professional conduct.
Requirements and Qualifications
- QQI Level 5 qualification, or equivalent, in Healthcare.
- Experience working with people with intellectual disabilities.
- A valid driving licence.
- A person-centred approach and commitment to supporting dignity, independence and inclusion.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Salary
€34,881 – €47,624 per annum (HSE Care Assistant (Disability Services) scale, with an LSI of €48,434 where applicable).
This is a Section 38 employer and the salary information is based on the HSE Consolidated Salary Scales effective 1 June 2026. For part-time appointments, salary is paid on a pro-rata basis according to contracted hours.
Location
The positions are based in South Dublin within the HSE Dublin and South East health region. Successful candidates will contribute to the delivery of intellectual disability services in a supportive environment focused on individual needs, participation and quality of life.
