University Hospital Limerick is recruiting a Clinical Skills Facilitator CNM2 to support nursing practice, clinical education and professional development within the Surgical Hub. This permanent, wholetime opportunity is open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants and offers an experienced nurse manager the opportunity to contribute to high-quality surgical services in Limerick.
Role Overview
The Clinical Skills Facilitator CNM2 will play an important role in supporting clinical learning, skills development and evidence-informed nursing practice within the Surgical Hub at University Hospital Limerick. Working with nursing management and multidisciplinary colleagues, the successful candidate will help strengthen professional practice, staff development and the delivery of safe, effective patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and delivery of clinical skills education within the Surgical Hub.
- Facilitate learning and professional development for nursing staff in the clinical environment.
- Promote evidence-informed practice, patient safety and high standards of nursing care.
- Work collaboratively with nursing management, clinical teams and multidisciplinary colleagues.
- Support the assessment of learning needs and the development of appropriate education initiatives.
- Contribute to quality improvement and the continued development of surgical nursing practice.
Requirements and Qualifications
Applicants must meet the eligibility, professional registration, experience and competency requirements specified for the Clinical Nurse Manager 2 campaign. Salary
€62,699 – €76,921 per annum (HSE Clinical Nurse Manager 2 scale, 10-point standard scale, plus an LSI of €79,227 where applicable). Salary figures are based on the HSE Consolidated Salary Scales effective 1 June 2026.
Location
This role is based at University Hospital Limerick in County Limerick and forms part of the Surgical Hub within HSE Mid West Acute Services. The successful candidate will contribute to clinical education and nursing practice development in a busy acute hospital environment serving patients across the Mid West region.
