Muiriosa Foundation is recruiting a Support Worker for Intellectual Disability Children Services in Westmeath. This fixed-term, part-time opportunity is based within Lir, a well-established preschool providing sessional care and support to children with additional and complex needs.
Role Overview
The Support Worker will contribute to a caring, engaging and supportive preschool environment for children with additional and complex needs. The successful candidate will have a genuine interest in the education and care of children with higher support needs and will be committed to making a positive difference in their daily lives.
This role will suit a kind, caring and reliable person who can work flexibly as part of a team, share their knowledge and experience, and remain open to learning and development within children’s disability services.
Key Responsibilities
- Support children with additional and complex needs during preschool sessional care.

Salary
€34,881 – €47,624 per annum on the full-time HSE Care Assistant (Disability Services), grade code 6482, salary scale, with an LSI of €48,434 where applicable. These figures are based on the HSE Consolidated Salary Scales effective 1 June 2026.
As this is a part-time position with a Section 38 employer, salary is payable on a pro-rata basis according to contracted hours.
Location
The position is based in County Westmeath within Lir, a well-established preschool setting supporting children with additional and complex needs. The successful candidate will contribute directly to a service focused on meaningful participation, care, development and positive experiences for children attending sessional care.
