Key Responsibilities
Clinical Leadership Excellence
- Lead and manage nursing teams delivering high-quality mental health services
- Ensure compliance with HSE clinical governance standards and mental health regulations
- Develop and implement evidence-based nursing care protocols specific to mental health
- Oversee clinical risk management and patient safety initiatives
Team Management & Development
- Supervise, mentor, and support nursing staff across all grades
- Coordinate staff development programmes and continuing professional education
- Manage workforce planning, recruitment, and retention strategies

Quality Improvement & Innovation
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in mental health nursing practice

Essential Requirements
Professional Qualifications & Registration
- Registration with NMBI (Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland) as a Registered General Nurse
- Post-graduate qualification in Mental Health Nursing or equivalent recognised qualification
- Current NMBI PIN and compliance with continuing professional development requirements
- Valid work authorisation for Ireland (EU citizenship or appropriate work permit)
Experience & Expertise
- Minimum 5 years clinical nursing experience in mental health settings
- Proven management experience at Clinical Nurse Manager 1 level or equivalent
- Demonstrated depth and breadth of experience in mental health nursing relevant to the post
- Experience in clinical governance, quality improvement, and risk management
Leadership & Management Skills
- Strong leadership capabilities with ability to motivate and inspire nursing teams
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Financial management and budgetary control experience
- Change management and service development experience
Knowledge & Competencies
- Comprehensive understanding of Irish mental health legislation and policy
