Advanced Nurse Practitioner CAMHS Waterford

The Health Service Executive (HSE) is seeking an experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioner (Candidate) – Mental Health (CAMHS Liaison) to join the team at University Hospital Waterford.

This is a permanent whole-time opportunity within Child & Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), providing specialist liaison support in acute hospital settings. The successful candidate will play a critical role in delivering advanced clinical care to children and adolescents experiencing mental health difficulties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced clinical assessment, diagnosis and treatment planning for children and adolescents presenting with mental health difficulties.
  • Deliver specialist CAMHS liaison services within the acute hospital setting.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated, person-centred care.
  • Support early intervention and risk assessment for young service users.
  • Contribute to service development, quality improvement and clinical governance initiatives.
  • Provide clinical leadership, mentoring and education within the mental health nursing team.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and adhere to HSE policies and professional standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Be registered in the Mental Health division of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
  • Have extensive experience in the management and care of service users with Childhood or Adolescent Mental Health illness.
  • Meet the eligibility criteria for Candidate Advanced Nurse Practitioner (cANP) as per HSE and NMBI guidelines.
  • Demonstrate advanced clinical decision-making and leadership skills.
  • Have strong communication, collaboration and service development competencies.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development relevant to CAMHS.

Salary, Benefits & Working Hours

Salary is aligned to the HSE Consolidated Salary Scales (1 August 2025) for Grade 2274 – Advanced Nurse Practitioner, Candidate (Mental Health):

  • €70,725 – €79,872 per annum (6-point scale)
