Job Overview

The Assistant Chief Financial Officer – HPO Costing & Pricing will play a critical role within the Healthcare Pricing Office, supporting national healthcare financial management and costing functions. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support national healthcare costing and pricing initiatives within the Healthcare Pricing Office.
  • Provide strategic financial leadership across costing, reporting, and healthcare funding activities.
  • Develop and oversee financial models, pricing methodologies, and performance analysis frameworks.
  • Support governance, compliance, and financial accountability within the National Finance and Procurement Division.
  • Collaborate with healthcare management teams, finance professionals, and national stakeholders.
  • Contribute to service planning, budgeting, and financial improvement projects across the HSE.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to finance and operational teams within the HPO function.
  • Support organisational objectives aligned with healthcare efficiency, transparency, and sustainability.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Significant senior-level financial management experience within healthcare, public sector, or large complex organisations.
  • Strong expertise in healthcare costing, pricing, financial governance, and reporting.
  • Excellent analytical, strategic planning, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing organisational change initiatives.
  • Professional accountancy qualification or equivalent relevant financial qualification.
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities with experience influencing senior decision-making.
  • Knowledge of public sector financial frameworks and healthcare funding models is desirable.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a high-level national leadership environment.
