About the Role
The Assistant Lecturer in General Nursing will deliver high-quality nursing education to students across levels 6, 7, 8, and 9 programmes at our prestigious St Angela’s Campus. This position combines teaching excellence with curriculum development responsibilities, offering the successful candidate opportunities to shape the future of nursing education in Ireland.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging nursing education across multiple programme levels (6, 7, 8, and 9)
- Develop and enhance curriculum content for various nursing topics and specializations
- Collaborate actively with practice partners and other third-level institutions
- Research and develop new modules and programmes to meet evolving industry needs
- Implement best practice pedagogic methods to enhance student learning outcomes
- Fulfill link-lecturer role connecting academic theory with clinical practice
- Conduct research activities and contribute to strengthening existing research teams
- Foster industry-standard practices in nursing education and skill development
Required Qualifications
Essential Requirements
- Relevant nursing qualification with current registration
- Minimum 3-5 years teaching experience in higher education
- Strong background in nursing practice and clinical expertise
- Demonstrated experience in curriculum development and programme design
- Research experience with evidence of scholarly activity
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree or PhD in Nursing or related field
- Experience with link-lecturer roles or practice partnerships
- Published research in nursing education or healthcare
- Knowledge of Irish nursing education standards and requirements
- Experience teaching across multiple academic levels
