Business Manager Grade VII – Galway | HSE Cardiology

The Health Service Executive (HSE) is Ireland’s national health service, delivering comprehensive healthcare across the country. We’re seeking an experienced Business Manager Grade VII to join our dynamic Cardiology team at Galway University Hospital, driving operational excellence in one of Ireland’s leading cardiac care centres.

About the Role

This is a senior management position within the HSE Cardiology Department at Galway University Hospital, offering the opportunity to lead business operations in a fast-paced healthcare environment. You’ll work alongside clinical teams to ensure efficient service delivery while managing complex data systems and competing priorities in this specified purpose wholetime role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead business management operations across the Cardiology Department, ensuring optimal resource allocation and service delivery
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary healthcare teams including cardiologists, nurses, and administrative staff to drive departmental objectives
  • Manage and analyse complex healthcare data to support clinical decision-making and operational improvements
  • Oversee competing priorities and tight deadlines while maintaining high standards of accuracy in data interpretation
  • Implement change management projects across multiple stakeholder groups to achieve strategic departmental goals
  • Develop and maintain robust data management systems to support cardiology services and patient care pathways
  • Provide strategic business analysis and recommendations to senior management and clinical leads

Required Qualifications

Essential Requirements

  • Significant experience working in multi-disciplinary environments with proven track record in change management projects
  • Demonstrated expertise in data collation, management, and analysis within a healthcare or comparable complex environment
  • Strong experience managing competing priorities and deadlines with ability to analyse and interpret information for quick, accurate decision-making
  • Relevant third-level qualification in Business Administration, Health Administration, or related field
  • Current eligibility to work for HSE, TUSLA, Section 38 agencies, or statutory health agencies (per WRC Agreement 161867)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in healthcare management or cardiology department operations
  • Knowledge of HSE systems, policies, and procedures
  • Project management certification or equivalent professional development
  • Advanced data analysis skills with healthcare information systems experience
