HSE Dublin and Midlands is recruiting a Cardiac Physiologist (Staff Grade) to join its cardiac diagnostics teams across four Midlands sites: Regional Hospital Mullingar, Midlands Regional Hospital Tullamore, Midlands Regional Hospital Portlaoise, and Naas Regional Hospital. This is a permanent, whole-time post offering a rewarding career in non-invasive cardiac diagnostics within a well-established HSE network.
Role Overview
The successful candidate will join a dedicated cardiac diagnostics team, contributing to the delivery of high-quality patient care across the Midlands region. The post holder will perform a full range of non-invasive cardiac investigations and other duties as appropriate to the grade, supporting clinical decision-making and patient outcomes at each of the four hospital sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform non-invasive cardiac investigations to a high clinical standard across all assigned sites.
- Contribute to the delivery of quality care in cardiac diagnostics as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Undertake duties appropriate to the Cardiac Physiologist (Staff Grade) role as directed by senior colleagues.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and documentation in line with HSE standards.
- Participate in service development and quality improvement initiatives within the department.
Requirements

Salary
€45,224 – €66,708 per annum (HSE Cardiac Physiologist scale, 10-point scale, plus long service increments where applicable). Based on HSE Consolidated Salary Scales effective 1 June 2026 (Department of Health Circular 2/2026).
Location
The post is based across four sites within the HSE Dublin and Midlands health region: Regional Hospital Mullingar (Co. Westmeath), Midlands Regional Hospital Tullamore (Co. Offaly), Midlands Regional Hospital Portlaoise (Co. Laois), and Naas Regional Hospital (Co. Kildare). Together these hospitals serve a large and diverse catchment population across the Midlands.
