Brothers of Charity Services Ireland is seeking dedicated Care Assistants to join our Limerick Region team. We support people with intellectual disabilities to live valued, independent lives in their communities with competitive salaries ranging from €33,699 – €46,984.

About the Role

As a Care Assistant, you’ll provide essential support to people with intellectual disabilities across Limerick City, Doon, and Foynes locations. This key-working role combines personal care responsibilities with community integration support, helping individuals achieve their personal goals and live fulfilling lives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive personal care including meals, hygiene, and physical well-being support
  • Assist individuals with implementing their Individual Plans and achieving personal outcomes
  • Support community participation and social integration activities
  • Maintain detailed care records and progress documentation
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure quality care delivery
  • Facilitate family and friend connections for people supported
  • Promote independence and ordinary life experiences in community settings

Required Qualifications

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum QQI Level 5 qualification in appropriate or relevant field
  • Full manual driving license valid for Irish roads
  • Positive attitude toward supporting people with intellectual disabilities
  • Commitment to person-centered care approach
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in disability or care services
  • Knowledge of intellectual disability support best practices
  • Understanding of community integration principles
  • Flexible approach to shift work including days and nights
