Connolly Hospital is seeking a dedicated and experienced Chef II to join its catering department on a permanent wholetime basis. This Chef II Dublin opportunity offers the chance to contribute to high-quality patient and service user care by delivering freshly prepared meals within a busy hospital environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Work as part of a team of Chefs and catering staff operating a bulk cook fresh service.
- Prepare and cook freshly made meals in accordance with approved menus and dietary requirements.
- Serve meals to service users at required times in line with operational schedules.
- Ensure compliance with HSE policies, food safety standards, and statutory regulations.
- Maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and food handling practices.
- Assist with stock control, ordering, and proper storage of food supplies.
- Support quality improvement initiatives within the catering department.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Relevant culinary qualification appropriate to Chef II grade.
- Experience working in a high-volume catering or healthcare environment.
- Knowledge of HACCP and food safety regulations.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Good communication skills and commitment to quality service delivery.
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
Salary is in line with the HSE Chef II (Grade 4529) pay scale under the August 2025 consolidated salary scales . Final placement on the scale will depend on previous relevant public sector service and incremental credit, where applicable.
