Letterkenny University Hospital is seeking an experienced and motivated Clinical Midwife Manager 2 (CMM2) to lead and coordinate high-quality maternity services. This permanent wholetime leadership role offers the opportunity to drive clinical excellence, enhance patient care standards, and support multidisciplinary collaboration within a dynamic hospital environment.
As a senior midwifery leader, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring safe, effective, and woman-centred maternity care across the service.
🔑 Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical leadership and operational management within maternity services.
- Ensure safe, evidence-based midwifery practice aligned with HSE policies.
- Lead, supervise, and support midwifery and nursing staff.
- Coordinate service delivery to maintain high standards of patient care.
- Contribute to service planning, quality improvement, and risk management.
- Manage resources effectively, including staffing and budget oversight.
- Support staff development, mentoring, and performance management.
- Ensure compliance with HIQA standards and clinical governance frameworks.
🎓 Required Skills & Qualifications
- Registered as a Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
- Minimum required years of post-registration clinical experience (as per HSE requirements).
- Demonstrated leadership and management experience in maternity services.
- Strong knowledge of clinical governance, quality standards, and patient safety.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
- Eligibility to work in Ireland.
💰 Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
Salary is aligned with the HSE Consolidated Pay Scales for Clinical Midwife Manager 2 (Grade 2132).
Effective 1 August 2025 Salary Scale:
€61,463 – €77,666 (including LSI)
