Letterkenny University Hospital is seeking an experienced Clinical Midwife Manager 2 Letterkenny to join its Maternity Services team on a permanent whole-time basis. This senior midwifery leadership role offers the opportunity to contribute to high-quality, woman-centred maternity care within a dynamic acute hospital setting.
The successful candidate will support the Director of Midwifery in leading clinical standards, workforce management, and service development across maternity services.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide professional and clinical leadership within maternity services.
- Ensure high standards of midwifery practice in line with national guidelines and HSE policies.
- Support workforce planning, rostering, and performance management.
- Promote quality improvement initiatives and patient safety standards.
- Participate in audit, governance, and service development projects.
- Mentor and support midwifery staff in professional development.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance maternity care delivery.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Registered Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
- Minimum years’ post-registration experience in midwifery practice.
- Previous leadership or management experience in a maternity setting.
- Strong clinical governance and quality improvement knowledge.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills.
- Eligibility to work in Ireland.
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
Salary is aligned with the HSE Clinical Midwife Manager 2 (Grade Code 2132) pay scale effective 1 August 2025, ranging from €61,463 to €77,666 (LSI) depending on experience
