Tipperary University Hospital is seeking an experienced and motivated Clinical Midwife Manager 2 / Clinical Nurse Manager 2 to join the Colposcopy Department on a permanent whole-time basis. Job Overview

As Clinical Midwife Manager 2 / Clinical Nurse Manager 2 within the Colposcopy Department, you will provide clinical leadership, operational management, and specialist expertise in colposcopy services. The role involves supporting patient safety, ensuring compliance with national screening standards, and contributing to service improvement initiatives within Tipperary University Hospital.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical and operational leadership within the Colposcopy Department.
  • Deliver high-quality, patient-focused nursing and midwifery care in line with HSE standards.
  • Support and oversee colposcopy procedures and cervical screening services.
  • Promote best practice and evidence-based clinical care within women’s health services.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary collaboration to ensure effective patient outcomes.
  • Participate in service planning, quality improvement, and risk management initiatives.
  • Support staff development, mentoring, and professional education within the department.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure compliance with governance standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse or Midwife with relevant professional registration requirements.
  • BSCCP Nurse Colposcopist accreditation or willingness to commence training within an agreed timeframe.
  • Cervical Screening Sample Taker Registration or willingness to commence smear taker training.
  • Demonstrated depth and breadth of experience in colposcopy services relevant to the role.
  • Strong clinical leadership and communication skills.
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • Excellent organisational, decision-making, and patient advocacy skills.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and quality improvement.

Salary, Benefits & Working Hours

Salary will be aligned with HSE salary scales for Clinical Midwife Manager 2 / Clinical Nurse Manager 2 grades. The position is offered on a permanent whole-time basis within Tipperary University Hospital.
