Clinical Nurse Educator Facilitator – National Children’s Cancer Services

Job Overview

This Clinical Nurse Educator Facilitator (CNM2 Grade) role with Children’s Health Ireland offers an exciting opportunity to support and advance clinical education within National Children’s Cancer Services. The successful candidate will play a key leadership role in developing nursing practice, promoting evidence-based care, and enhancing patient outcomes in a specialist paediatric oncology setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate clinical education initiatives within National Children’s Cancer Services.
  • Support nursing staff in developing advanced clinical competencies in paediatric oncology care.
  • Design, deliver and evaluate structured education and training programmes.
  • Promote evidence-based practice and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Act as a clinical resource and mentor to nursing teams.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient safety and care standards.
  • Contribute to policy development and implementation aligned with national guidelines.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Registered General Nurse or Children’s Nurse on the active register maintained by NMBI.
  • Minimum experience requirements consistent with Clinical Nurse Manager 2 (Grade 2119).
  • Demonstrated experience in oncology, paediatric oncology, or specialist cancer services.
  • Relevant postgraduate qualification in education, oncology, or a related field (desirable).
  • Strong leadership, mentoring, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to implement quality improvement and evidence-based initiatives.

Salary, Benefits & Working Hours

Salary is aligned with the Clinical Nurse Manager 2 (Grade 2119) pay scale under the Department of Health Consolidated Salary Scales (effective 1 August 2025).

  • Salary Scale (1 August 2025): €61,463 – €77,666 (LSI applicable).
  • Specified Purpose Wholetime contract.

Location & Employer Information

This position is based in Dublin South within the HSE Dublin and Midlands region and is recruited by Children’s Health Ireland, a publicly funded organisation delivering national paediatric services across Ireland.
