Clinical Nurse Manager 1 Emergency Sligo

Sligo University Hospital is seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Manager 1 Sligo candidate to lead and support clinical operations within the Emergency Department. This permanent HSE role offers the opportunity to play a pivotal leadership role in delivering safe, effective and patient-centred emergency care.

The Clinical Nurse Manager 1 will work closely with nursing and multidisciplinary teams to ensure high standards of clinical governance, service delivery, and staff development in a fast-paced Emergency Department environment.

Key Responsibilities

Provide leadership and clinical supervision within the Emergency Department.
Ensure delivery of high-quality, patient-centred emergency nursing care.
Support the implementation of clinical governance, risk management and quality improvement initiatives.
Manage staff allocation, rostering and performance in line with HSE policies.
Promote a culture of safety, accountability and continuous professional development.
Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to optimise patient flow and outcomes.
Ensure compliance with national standards, HIQA regulations and HSE procedures.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Registered as a General Nurse with NMBI (Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland).
Minimum required clinical experience in an acute hospital setting.
Demonstrated leadership and people management skills.
Experience working within an Emergency Department environment (desirable).
Strong organisational, communication and decision-making abilities.
Commitment to professional development and evidence-based practice.

Salary, Benefits & Working Hours

Salary is in accordance with the HSE Consolidated Salary Scales for Clinical Nurse Manager 1 (Grade 2127) effective 1 August 2025:

€56,642 – €66,705 per annum (8-point scale)

Salary scale confirmed in accordance with the Department of Health Consolidated Salary Scales (1 August 2025) .
