The Clinical Nurse Manager 1 Limerick opportunity at University Hospital Limerick offers an exciting leadership role within Paediatrics. This permanent wholetime position with HSE Mid West is ideal for an experienced paediatric nurse ready to take the next step into ward-level management and clinical leadership.
You will support high-quality, child-centred care delivery while coordinating nursing teams and ensuring best practice standards across the paediatric service.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical leadership and day-to-day management within the paediatric unit
- Ensure delivery of safe, effective, and evidence-based nursing care
- Supervise and support nursing and healthcare staff
- Coordinate patient care planning and discharge processes
- Maintain compliance with HSE policies, HIQA standards, and clinical governance frameworks
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and audit activities
- Promote a positive, child-focused and family-centred care environment
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Registered as a General Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
- Minimum required post-registration experience in paediatrics
- Demonstrated leadership and team coordination experience
- Strong communication, organisational, and decision-making skills
- Commitment to continuous professional development
- Eligibility to work in Ireland
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
This role is aligned with the Clinical Nurse Manager 1 (General) Grade Code 2127 HSE salary scale.
According to the Department of Health Consolidated Salary Scales (1 August 2025), the annual salary scale is:
- €56,642 – €66,705 per annum (8-point scale)
